Eight institutions will be benefitted by the Energy Efficiency Program with a reduction of energy costs.
São Paulo: “EDP Bandeirante, the EDP Group energy distributor in Brazil, signed an agreement with eight institutions and charity hospitals in São Paulo, in order to implement the Energy Efficiency Program.
The initiative acts directly on the improvement of lighting systems and solar heating of the institutions, with the replacement of low energy performance equipment for other more economic and efficient, says the company in an announcement.
“The project integrates the Company’s strategic plan of investing in energy efficiency, in order to contribute to a more sustainable world and to provide improvements for the financial conditions of these entities,” explains Ewaldo Nogueira, Executive Manager for EDP Bandeirante.
With an investment of R$ 925 thousand, the program will amount for an energy saving of 733 MWh/year, the equivalent of 305 household units’ consumption.
The action schedule foresees the replacement of 160 electric showers and the installation of 147 high energy efficiency solar collectors.
The contemplated institutions and charity hospitals are: Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Suzano; Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Mogi das Cruzes; Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Cachoeiro Paulista; Hospital Francisca Júlia de São José dos Campos; Asilo Lar Fraternal de Jacareí; Lar Batista de criança de Jacareí; Creche Beneficente Joana D’arc Guarulhos; Hospital Municipal de São José dos Campos.
